Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, FL has selected ImageNow from Perceptive Software for a multi-department document management project. ImageNow captures information from sources including online forms, faxes, paperwork, and e-mail, and stores it in an electronic repository. Documents can be linked to other information systems and files automatically sent to staff members for review.

ISO/IEC has published the Office Open XML (OOXML) file format standard, formally known as ISO/IEC 29500:2008. It describes file formats originally designed by Microsoft for its Office 2007 productivity suite, which are used in presentation, spreadsheet and word processing applications.

Plymouth State University in New Hampshire has deployed Rapid Insight Data Integration software to simplify data management. The school uses Data Integration to collect data from multiple sources and view it in multiple ways. The application incorporates drag-and-drop icons and arrows that let users connect the data sources to functions including merge, filter, cleanse, aggregate, de-dupe, flatten, append, sort, and rename.

VMware has released an update to Fusion, its desktop virtualization solution for Mac OS X. The Industrial Distribution Program at Texas A&M University has upgraded to Selltis Sales 5.0 for use in its supply chain systems lab curriculum. The Industrial Distribution Program has been using Selltis for its industrial distribution course offering since 2002 and recently migrated to the newest version of the company's CRM software. The Selltis Sales platform includes tools to automate marketing campaigns and lead management as well as quoting and providing field service.
