This TechTalk session was for all of us who couldn't get to Orlando for Educom'98. Several experts joined us.

Brian HawkinsBrian Hawkins, President of EDUCAUSE, dropped by. He told us what's new as his organization, newly-formed earlier this year by the merger of CAUSE and Educom, continues its evolution.

Gary Crane, Senior Director of Network Development at NYSERNet, Inc., brings us up to date with the latest info on the East Coast GigaPoP situation.

Jim Wolf, Director of Academic Computing Services at Binghamton University in New York—who is also a CREN board member— capsulized for us what he's seen and heard so far while attending sessions and networking during the first two days of the conference.

So, review the tape with technology Anchor Howard Strauss and his co-host for this session Greg Marks, associate director of Merit Network, and spend an hour in "virtual" attendance at Educom'98.
